History

 

    The kennel club is an AKC member club that was established in 1977. We are an all breed and obedience club. Our club members are very active in various dog sports including agility, competition obedience, conformation, pet therapy, field trials, search and rescue and much more

     

    Hot Springs National Park Kennel Club Code of Ethics

    Preamble

    Members of the Hot Springs National Park Kennel Cub shall consider the welfare of all dogs to be of primary importance.

    Ownership

    All dogs owned by members of the Hot Springs National Park Kennel Club shall be maintained under sanitary and pleasant conditions, treated humanely at all times and given necessary health care.

    Breeding

    Members are responsible for maintaining the quality and soundness of any dog they breed. In a breeding program, members will keep in mind the health, temperament, and possible hereditary defects of any breed (or dog) being bred. Members do not sell wholesale, or sell to (or place their dogs with) pet shops, catalog houses, or any other commercial distributors. Members never breed using profit as a motive without regard to quality.

    All members shall take full responsibility for every litter they breed. If it becomes necessary, they agree to take back any dog or puppy sold or placed by them.

    Conduct

    No advertising shall be false or misleading. All claims, both written and oral, shall be factual and honest in both substance and implication.

    All members should exhibit good sportsmanship and feel personally obligated to protect the interests of the Hot Springs National Park Kennel Club by conducting themselves in a positive manner. The breach of one member of this Code of Ethics does not in any way absolve another member from any obligations under the Code. While showing, breeding or owning dogs as a member of this club, every member should be a worthy representative of the Hot Springs National Park Kennel Club

    Education

    Each member of HSNPKC should strive to assist in the education of the public or anyone who desires educational assistance on the care, well being and advancement of the purebred dog and all dogs at any opportunity that we may have.

    Expulsion

    Any member who shall disregard this Code of Ethics will be subject to suspension or expulsion form the Hot Springs National Park Kennel Club.
